How you pay

You are never prompted per parcel and never asked to hold a float. Everything you book accumulates, and a rider settles the whole batch in one payment when they collect.

The sequence

You book. Each parcel joins your open batch. Nothing is charged.
A rider arrives and scans the batch. The total is locked at that moment.
One M-Pesa prompt goes to your phone for the whole batch.
You approve it, and only then do the parcels become the rider's to take.

Nothing leaves your shop unpaid. If the payment does not go through, the parcels stay with you — they never enter the network in a state where it is unclear who is responsible for them.

Useful on a dashboard so staff know what the next prompt will be before the rider turns up.

Batch statuses

Status	Means
`OPEN`	Still accumulating. You can cancel parcels out of it.
`AWAITING_PAYMENT`	Scanned, total locked, prompt sent. The parcels are still yours.
`PAID`	Settled. The rider may now take them.
`VOID`	Abandoned. The parcels return to your next batch.

Things worth knowing

Cancelled parcels never cost you

Cancel while the batch is OPEN and the parcel drops out before the total is calculated. There is no reconciliation to do at month end.

Very large batches are split

M-Pesa will not take a single payment above KES 150,000. Past that we split your batch and you approve two prompts rather than being turned away with a rider standing in your shop.

Somebody has to be there

The prompt goes to a phone, so someone who can approve it needs to be on site when the rider comes. If that is awkward at your volume, talk to us about an unattended arrangement — info@shopinn.co.ke.

Pay-on-delivery settles the other way

If you sell with cash on delivery, we collect from your customer and credit your SendWay wallet, less a 1.5% handling fee. You get a cod.settled webhook with exactly what was collected, what the fee was and what was credited.
